• 9-teeth side — start here. Wider spacing, for breaking up stubborn mats and tangles.
• 17-teeth side — finish here. Closer spacing, for thinning and removing loose undercoat.

⚠️ Read this before you use it

This tool has sharpened stainless steel blades. That's what lets it cut through a matted knot instead of dragging at it — and it's also why it needs care.

• Work in short, gentle strokes. Never force it through a mat.
• Keep it flat against the coat, never angled into the skin.
• Avoid bony areas, the face, and anywhere the skin is thin or irritated.
• Stop if your pet shows discomfort.
• Keep it away from children. The blades are sharp.
• Severe or tight matting close to the skin is a job for a professional groomer or a vet, not a home tool.

Care

Pull the collected hair off the blades after each session. Wipe dry. Don't submerge — the blades are steel and the fixing is a screw.

Which side do I start with?
The 9-teeth side, to open up any mats. Then switch to the 17-teeth side to thin out the loose undercoat.

Will it hurt my pet?
Not if you use it gently and keep it flat against the coat. The teeth are sharpened, so this is a tool that rewards patience — short strokes, no forcing. If a mat won't come apart easily, see a groomer rather than pulling harder.

How often should I use it?
That depends entirely on the coat, and we're not going to invent a number. Most owners find a rhythm within a couple of sessions.

Can I use it on furniture?
No. It's shaped for a coat, not a flat surface. For sofas and carpet use the Double-Sided brush, the Carpet Hair Lifter or the long-handled 4-in-1.
